Goodbye 'One More Thing,' Hello Peace of Mind
Transform your week with this simple 30-minute family meeting ritual
Hey Beautiful Mama!
You know that feeling when your mind is racing with a million to-dos?
When you're lying in bed thinking about that plumber you need to call, the birthday party you need to plan, and that business decision that's been weighing on you?
I've been there, mama.
And today, I want to share something that has completely transformed how I manage our family and business life…
Something I call "Level 10-ing Your Life."
Let me take you back to a moment that might feel familiar...
I used to find myself bringing up important discussions with Stephen every single night.
"Oh, and one more thing..."
Became my catchphrase.
My mind was constantly spinning, never truly able to rest.
Sound familiar?
But everything changed when we discovered a simple 30-minute weekly ritual that has brought more peace to our family life than I ever thought possible.
Here's how you can bring this magic
into your own family…
1. Set Your Sacred Time
For us, it's Sunday nights. Pick a time when you and your partner (or just you, if you're flying solo!) can focus without interruption. This isn't another task to squeeze in – it's your ticket to mental freedom for the rest of the week.
2. Start with Celebration
Begin your meeting by sharing wins from the week. Maybe your little one shared their toys at the park, or you finally launched that new product. Celebrating these moments sets a positive tone and reminds us of what really matters.
3. Look Ahead with Intention
Take 5 minutes to silently review your calendar for the next 10 days. Write down anything that needs discussion – from childcare arrangements to business decisions. This isn't the time to solve everything; just get it all out of your head and onto paper.
4. Create Clear Action Steps
This is where the magic happens! For each item you've listed:
Decide who owns it
Set a clear deadline
Make it specific and actionable
Instead of "we need to figure out childcare," it becomes "Stephen will text his parents about watching the kids next Wednesday by Monday."
Your Action Steps This Week…
Schedule Your First L10: Block out 30 minutes this week for your first family meeting. Keep it simple – you can add more structure as you go.
Prepare Your Template: Create a simple note on your phone or grab a dedicated notebook. Include sections for:
Wins from the week
Family announcements
Discussion items
Action steps for next week
Set the Ground Rules: This is sacred time for focused discussion. No phones, no distractions. Just clear communication and planning.
Track Your Peace: Notice how your stress levels change when you know there's a dedicated time to discuss important matters.
Remember, mama…
This isn't about adding another thing to your plate.
It's about creating space for everything else to flow more smoothly.
When Stephen and I started this practice, we found ourselves having more present, enjoyable evenings together because we weren't constantly trying to squeeze in "just one more thing."
With love and gratitude,
