Lessons from the Garden: A Season of Planting and Growing

This time of year reminds me—everything great starts as a seed. Whether in motherhood, business, or life, what we plant today will bloom in time. Here’s what I’m reflecting on as I start fresh in the garden this spring. 🌿

Hey, Beautiful Mama! 👋

Planting, Growing, and Waiting for the Bloom 🌱

This time of year is good for my soul.

As a California girl, I need the sun. ☀️ The cold winter wind fades away, and the warmth starts to soak into my skin. It’s one of my favorite feelings—like everything is waking back up, stretching toward the light.

Living by the ocean is beautiful, and while we love our beach days, I've enjoyed exploring our property and dreaming about planting a big garden. Over the years, I’ve learned to love my space at home more—to create a little sanctuary where I can enjoy the beauty of nature right here.

That’s where my love for gardening started.

At first, it was just a couple of plants here and there. Then I couldn’t stop. 🌿🌸 We had a little plot of land in our backyard that became a full garden—zucchini, bell peppers, tomatoes—meals straight from our own soil. Then I got into flower arranging and loved bringing the beauty of the outside inside.

But with our recent move, I’ve been thinking… What do I want to plant this year?

We left our vegetable garden behind, and while I could start fresh with another, this year, I felt pulled toward something new.

Roses.

I planted them a couple of weeks ago, so they’re just settling in, but every time I plant something new, I get reflective. Gardening reminds me so much of life, business, and motherhood.

Everything starts in seed form. 🌱

You have to put it into the ground, nurture it, and trust the process. Even when it looks like nothing is happening, roots are forming beneath the surface. And in time, what was planted begins to bloom.

Whatever season you’re in—whether it’s business, personal growth, or motherhood—I hope this reminds you:

🌿 The seeds you’re planting today will grow.

🌿 What feels slow now will bloom in time.

🌿 Stay faithful in the planting season—your harvest is coming.

And if you need a little slow living hobby that reminds you of this truth daily, I highly recommend gardening. 🌸

I’ve put together a list of my favorite outdoor and gardening finds on Amazon to help you get started—because sometimes, all you need is a little dirt, a little patience, and a whole lot of trust.

With love and gratitude,
Chelsey 💕
