The Secret to Thriving as a Mompreneur
Discover Rachel Earp’s game-changing approach to boundaries for ultimate balance and success.
Hey Beautiful Mama,
It’s Chelsey here, 👋
It’s been a month since we had the incredible Rachel Earp on the podcast, and I’m STILL thinking about all the wisdom she dropped.
I hope you’ve taken a moment to breathe today—because, wow, I know how much you balance between being a mom and running your business.
On her 14th wedding anniversary, Rachel reflected on how she and her husband, Dale, started their journey.
They didn’t even have enough for a fancy wedding—McDonald’s drive-thru on the dollar menu was their wedding night feast!
They giggle about it now, but it just shows that we all start somewhere, even if that ‘somewhere’ is juggling a Big Mac while dreaming of big things.
And today?
They now run two seven-figure businesses!
That stuck with me because it reminds me how we can be in the thick of chaos, feeling like nothing is going our way, and still…
Our dreams are cooking.
Sometimes we just need to pause and appreciate how far we’ve come, even if it doesn’t feel like it yet.
Entrepreneurship is a wild ride, right?
It gives you freedom, flexibility, and the chance to create something amazing—but it also has its share of bumps along the way.
Some days, it’s like walking on sunshine, and other days, you’re dodging thunderstorms with a kid on your hip and a laptop in your hand.
What makes the difference?
Setting boundaries! (We will dive further into this today!)
Setting boundaries that protect both your business and your personal life.
Easier said than done, I know, but it’s a game-changer when you get it right.
Now let’s get into the lessons I’ve learned from Rachel…
Lesson #1: Your Success Is Only Limited By The Size Of The Dream
Rachel shared some incredible advice that I know will resonate with you.
Whether you’re shifting from a job or from stay-at-home life into entrepreneurship, the key is to approach it with full confidence.
She suggests saying something like:
"I feel called and passionate about this. This isn’t just a whim; I’ve put thought into it. Trust me, and let’s get on the same page.”
Because here’s the thing…
You don’t need to explain your dreams away or water them down to make them more “acceptable.”
Be bold about your vision, Mama!
Not everyone will be in the same place in life, and that’s okay.
Do it for YOU.
Lesson #2: The Power of Perseverance
Rachel’s story about failing her state exam twice really stuck with me.
Her husband, Dale, who barely graduated high school, passed on the first try.
Can you imagine how frustrating that was?
She could’ve thrown in the towel, but instead, she leaned in and turned it into motivation.
It’s a perfect reminder: Just because something doesn’t work out the first time doesn’t mean it never will. Failure is a detour, not a dead end.
Whether it’s a failed launch, a flop product, or a tough moment in business—don’t let it define you.
Dust off, recalibrate, and remember why you started in the first place.
Challenges aren’t roadblocks—they’re part of the process.
And you, Mama, are stronger than any setback!
Lesson #3: Working Together as Partners
One of Rachel’s best lessons was about working with your spouse.
I know many of us are navigating that dance between home and business life, especially when you’re building something together.
She shared how she and Dale figured out their roles by leaning into their strengths.
If you’re more creative, dive into the behind-the-scenes stuff like educating or writing, and let your spouse handle what they’re best at.
It’s all about playing to each other’s strengths so you don’t step on each other’s toes—because we all know that can happen!
And trust me, setting clear business hours and carving out time for your family?
That’s a must.
Rachel reminded me that your relationship and kids come first, always.
Lesson #4: Setting and Respecting Boundaries
Let’s talk boundaries.
We have already mentioned this, but this deserves a second take!
They’re not just lines on paper—they’re the foundation of a thriving family and business life.
Think of it like this…
Just like you wouldn’t let someone waltz into your house uninvited, you shouldn’t let anyone trample your time.
Dinner time, family time, the bedtime routine with your kids—these moments are sacred, Mama.
And if others don’t respect your boundaries? That’s on them, not you.
Your time, energy, and money are valuable.
But guess what? You don’t need to explain that to anyone.
The more you respect your own boundaries, the more others will follow your lead. Protect your space unapologetically.
Because here’s the truth…
You. Are. Worth. It.
One Last Tip… Stop Saying Sorry!
Rachel dropped a truth bomb that I can’t stop thinking about…
Stop saying sorry when you don’t need to.
How many times have you said, “I’m sorry,” when you really didn’t need to?
Like when you didn’t text a friend back because you were hanging with your kids or went to bed early.
No more apologizing for prioritizing yourself or your family.
You’re doing exactly what you need to do, and you don’t need to feel guilty about it.
Mama, I want you to know—you’re doing an amazing job.
I see you putting in the effort, loving your family, and chasing your dreams, all while juggling 10 different things at once.
It’s not easy, but you’ve got this.
Just like Rachel shared with me, this journey is about the balance, the boundaries, and the belief in yourself.
You are strong.
You are capable.
And you deserve the space to thrive.
Take care of yourself, set those boundaries, and keep building the life you love.
We’re in this together, and I’m cheering you on every step of the way.
With love and gratitude,
Chelsey & Stephen Diaz
